While DOWSIL™ F4 High Performance Kitchen and Bathroom Mould Resistant Sealant is a highly effective sealant, there are some limitations to its use. Here are some of the main limitations:
- Temperature limitations: DOWSIL™ F4 is not suitable for use in applications where temperatures will exceed 50°C (122°F) as this may cause the sealant to degrade and lose its adhesive properties.
- Not suitable for certain materials: The sealant may not adhere well to certain materials, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon, and some types of rubbers. A compatibility test should be performed before using the sealant on these materials.
- Not suitable for continuous submersion: DOWSIL™ F4 is not suitable for continuous submersion in water or other liquids. While it is resistant to water and moisture, it is not designed for use in applications where it will be in constant contact with liquids.
- Not suitable for structural glazing: DOWSIL™ F4 is not designed for use in structural glazing applications where the sealant is required to bear a load.
